NEKS Headlines
Sabetha used a 4-run 5th inning to erase a 3-2 deficit to defeat Auburn 7-4.
Sabetha only had one hit in the inning but utilized 4 walks and a key 2-out error to
plate the 4 runs. Graham Droge got the win pitching the first 5 innings allowing
only one earned run and only 4 hits. Droge K'd 8 hitters without allowing a free
pass. Garrett did not allow an earned run and fanned 4. Nolan Keim had a pair of
hits to lead Sabetha. Sabetha's offense was aided by 8 walks and a hit batsman.
Sabetha improves to 2-1 and will travel to Royal Valley for a DH Sunday. First
pitch is 1:00.
Congratulations to the Sabetha Boys Golf Team for being named athletes of the week.
Sabetha claimed the KSHSAA Class 3A Boys Golf State Championship at Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca. The Championship was the third in Sabetha history in Boys Golf, but their first since 1968 when they won a Sand Greens title. The state championship team consists of Nolan Keim, Tyler Ulrich, Kevin Herbster, Derek Halls and Darrin Wegner. Keim had the top individual score, placing 9th while shooting a 79 on the day Ulrich tied for 12th with an 81.
