Corning lost their first game of the year to Baileyville Tuesday night June 23rd. Baileyville avenged their lopsided loss to Corning from just nine days earlier. Corning scored three runs in the first inning to lead the game 3-1 after one inning. Baileyville's Kyle Haverkamp kept the Corning batters guessing the rest of the game striking out thirteen and giving up just three runs over six innings to get the win. Baileyville's Cody Heiman belted a home run in the fourth inning to spark a five run fourth inning to put Baileyville up for good. Baileyville added another ten runs in the 7th to finish off a struggling pitching night by six different Corning pitchers. Phillip Steinlage went 1-2 with a HR and two bases on balls for Corning.

A sunny day didn't change Centralia's hot bats in the fifth inning Friday night at Centralia. In a game that was postponed due to rain, Corning and Centralia were tied at 1-1 at the end of four innings. At the top of the fifth, as the rain started beating so did the Centralia bats. Dylan Kramer unloaded a grand slam to give Centralia a 5-1 lead. Weather hampered the Corning pitchers as Centralia loaded the bases again with three straight walks. However, the game would be concluded at Centralia. The change of weather and location didn't change the fate for Corning as Tyler Gleason and Tyler Glatczak both hit grand slams for Centralia to help win the game in five innings 15-1.

In the second game, the fans in attendance were in for an exciting game. Corning exploded for five runs in the second inning off of five hits. Johnny Steinlage's double drove in two runs to lead the way. Corning's Cody Duryea gave up no runs over three innings before control issues caused him to retire for the night. Corning was on cruise control as they added another two runs in the fourth with Phillip Steinlage's 2 RBI single. In Centralia's half of the fourth, Tyler Gleason hit a bases loaded 350 foot home run to center field to spark a six run inning. The game remained at 7-6 headed into the bottom of the 7th. With the bases loaded and one out, Tyler Gleason's grounder to the left side of the field was just out of glove's length as Centralia scored the two runs they needed to win the game. Corning falls to 5-3 on the year.
