Corning advances to 5-0 with a 10-6 win over Frankfort.

Phillip Steinlage (4-0) got the win Friday night at Corning in his second strong showing against Frankfort this season. Steinlage gave up just four runs over five innings. Gale Nightingale got the save allowing two runs over the final two innings. Corning's defense was the difference in the game as two different Frankfort rallies were hindered by stellar plays by Corning third baseman Clyde Glissman. Frankfort pitcher Cody Trimble was solid allowing only two hits and striking out seven over the first four innings. A three run fifth inning proved to be the spark for Corning offensively. A single by Phil Steinlage and a walk led to back to back doubles by Ben Hasenkamp and Gale Nightingale. Corning tacked on an additional three runs in the sixth highlighted by Jerrel Nightingale's RBI triple. Corning's offense was lead again by Mitchell Heideman. Heideman was 3-4 with three doubles, three runs, and two RBI's. Corning advances to 5-0 with a 10-6 win over Frankfort.
