Doniphan County Invite plus two wins for Centralia and Holton during weekend.
It was a full weekend of American Legion baseball and the Doniphan County Invite comes to and end Monday in Wathena. Doniphan County won three elimination games to stay alive in their tournament and will play KC Varsity at 6:00 with Lansing awaiting the winner in the championship. Holton had a nice 2-0 weekend as well and Centralia swept Republic County.

After a first round loss against Sabetha, Doniphan County run-ruled Falls City 13-2 on Saturday then eliminated Silver lake 9-6 and beat Seneca 5-1 on Sunday. Colton Bauman struck out 10 batters and pitched a complete game while DC pounded out 17 hits against Falls City. Jared Hawkins pitched the game against Silver Lake and Post 55 got home runs from Ethan Robinson, Brennan Wehner and Travis Twombly. Wehner than pitched a two-hit gem against Seneca with Robinson adding another homer. Doniphan County is now 14-2 with hopes of playing two more games in the tournament wrap up Monday in Wathena.

Seneca lost in the first round 9-4 against the KC Varsity but rebounded to knock off Atchison 14-6 before falling to Doniphan County. Atchison and Falls City both went 0-2 and the A's were defeated by Silver Lake 12-2 in the first round.

Sabetha exited the tournament after their first round win against Doniphan County and 9-3 loss against Lansing on Saturday. Christian Busch has six straight multi-hit games for Sabetha and is 19-23 during the stretch after going 5-7 this weekend.

In regular season Northeast Kansas League play, Holton beat Sabetha 9-6 Sunday sparked by a trio of home runs. Devon Long hit a two-out three-run shot in the 6th and Aaron Reischiek followed with another long ball to put Holton ahead for good. Kyle Zimmerman went deep earlier in the game for Holton and Kyle Porter pitched five innings in relief allowing just two hits for the win.

Holton started the weekend with an 11-0 shutout at Hiawatha on Friday. Kyle Porter also pitched five innings of two-hit ball to earn the win while striking out 8 and going 3-3 at the plate. Reischiek added a pair of triples as Holton improved their record to 6-7 and plays at Seneca Wednesday.

Centralia improved their record to 15-5 with a sweep at Republic County by scores of 13-0 and 23-0 as David Heideman picked up both wins pitching. Centralia plays at Hiawatha Wednesday. Hiawatha has a makeup game in Sabetha Monday (tonight) at 7:30 and Sabetha travels to Atchison Wednesday while Doniphan County host Falls City to complete a full league schedule.
