The Maur Hill/Mount Academy golf team won the Big 7 League Championship on Wednesday at Village Greens in Ozawkie. Holton finished seven strokes back in second place and Jeff West edged Sabetha by one shot to place third.
Both the Ravens and Wildcats had a trio of medalists in the top eight as Brent Arnold won individual honors with a 72. Kevin Thomas was fifth with an 80 and Adler Pruett of the Ravens placed seventh with an 82. Kevin Middlemist led Holton with a 76 to place second overall while Nolan Pahmahmie was fourth with a 79 and Damian Lake carded an 83 to place eighth.
Sabetha's Jerry Chase meddled third with a 79 and Tanner Steele of Jeff West was sixth with an 81. Hiawatha was led by Eli Bachman with an 85 and Adam Fetcher of the Tigers rounded out the top ten with an 86. Logan Hiltibrand and Lance Studer both shot 87's for Nemaha Valley and Cody Viergever paced Royal Valley with a 93.
