There is a game of hardball being played off the legion diamonds this season and Seneca has won that battle with Centralia, leading to a forfeit of games the rest of this summer for Post 216.

Todd Heinen played for Seneca last year and this year opted to play for Centralia. However, Seneca would not release him and filed a complaint with the state legion association, which was granted on Wednesday. The state's ineligible decision meant that Centralia could play without Heinen or they must forfeit the remainder of games this year.

After a team vote Wednesday night, Coach Jason Tynon informed Kanzaland Sports that Centralia decided to just play out their schedule with Heinen and the team assembled and have as much fun as possible. Despite the outcomes, they will officially take forfeit losses and not participate in the Zone Tournament.

Centralia took out some frustration on Seneca by playing a 9-0 game as they scored five runs in the first and never looked back. Patrick Bramhall fired a no-hitter in five innings and added two hits while Derek Rempe also was 2-3 with an RBI triple. Officially, Seneca improved to 4-11 with the forfeit win and Centralia drops to 7-9 on the season. All Centralia's prior games and outcomes before notification from the state remain intact.
