Holton knocked off the legion league leaders and Tritsch Tournament Champions from Atchison 9-7 on Wednesday night at Chandler Park. Falls City defeats Hiawatha 7-2.
   
Holton scored five in the first and added three in the second to take an early 8-1 advantage. Curt Bontrager allowed just one hit through the first four innings, but Atchison came alive in the fifth sending 12 batters to the plate and scoring six runs on five hits to close the defecit to two. Tyler Miller tossed the final three innings for Holton who improved to 3-1 in league play and 6-6 overall on the season. TJ Phillips took the loss pitching just one inning plus for the A's before giving way to Matt Minnis. Atchison falls to 12-3 overall and maintains a half-game lead over Sabetha in the league standings at 5-2. Sabetha and Doniphan County were rained out Wednesday.
 

Falls City took advantage of five unearned runs for a 7-2 home victory against Hiawatha. Falls City scored four runs in the sixth frame on a couple hits and three Hiawatha errors to improve to 4-5 on the season. Trent Scheitel pitched Falls City to their second league victory and Taylor Olson was saddled with the loss. Tanner Smith led the Hiawatha offense with a trio of hits and Jereme Jones added two hits before Post 66 fell to 0-13 on the season.
